Drystone walls.

One of the best features of a walk in Derbyshire is the drystone walls. We have some of the most skilled artisans at building walls, and they win LOTS of prizes. They say that if you can wall with limestone, you can wall with ANY stone, because it's so difficult to master.
At the national stone centre, Wirksworth, they have a display of many kinds of wall.
Think a wall is just a wall???Take a look here;

  1. I'm a big fan of dry stone walls and would love to go on one of the courses to learn how to build them. The stone centre is one of my favourite places, I love going and looking at all the walls.

    Oh and thanks for that link you sent to me - what fantastic images!
